Got my first mailer from Mike Conners today. Pretty conventional stuff. Would someone please explain how he's saved the millions he claims to have saved?
Since he doesn't get along with Breslin or the Legislature, they don't pay any attention to him or his recommendations.
And the job doesn't have any authority to do anything on his own.
And he can't show us any audits. He still hasn't listed his audits in response to a FOIL request, now very much overdue.
So where are the savings? Where are those millions?

Got the same piece. Are you kiddin' me?! Mr. I-took-$900K-from-BRUNO is ballyhooing about Political BOSSES?
I don't see his REPUBLICAN friends dropping that cash this time 'round. Even the NRA seems to have restrained their $2,000 donations/endorsements this time.
Could it be that 1) Conners forgot that his campaign received $390,000 in transfers from the REPUBLICAN party--by the way, HE filed that one at the BOE
(http://www.elections.state.ny.us/plsql_browser/getfiler2?filerid_in=A18778);
or that BRUNO spent an additional $508,000 on his behalf
(http://www.elections.state.ny.us/reports/rwservlet?cmdkey=efs_sch_report+p_filer_id=A00193+p_e_year=2004+p_freport_id=F+p_transaction_code=R)
If those links don't work, try www.elections.state.ny.us and look under Campaign Disclosure Statements.
or 2) that he has the audacity to believe we'll swallow this drivel the Friday before election day? I, for one, read the Times Union.
In my book, money buys influence, not independence. $900,000 is a lot of influence...especially for a $90,000 salaried job.
